"What is M.I.T.C.H. and what is a charter school?"
M.I.T.C.H. stands for Multi-sensory Instruction Teaching Children Hands-on, and a charter school is a public school parents choose to enroll their children in. Charter schools have a unique curriculum other than what is currently in use by the sponsoring school district(s). Charter schools receive a portion of the state funding dollars passed through to school districts; therefore, families do not pay tuition. M.I.T.C.H. is a separate 501 (c) 3 nonprofit school approved by two school districts Tigard/Tualatin School District and Sherwood School District.
