Job Description

We are looking for a first grade teacher for the remainder of the 2022 school year, starting the end of April. This position could potentially become permanent. This teacher will work in collaboration with two other grade-level teachers to facilitate the first grade curriculum. It is of utmost importance that this candidate be proactively communicative, collaborative, and team oriented. Equally important is a candidate who is coachable: a self-starter, lifelong learner, and exposes themselves to new perspectives and practices. Skills and experiences required:

• A bachelor’s degree from an accredited University
• Teacher licensure must be current with the Oregon State Teaching and Practices Commission

Skills and experiences desired:

• Experience teaching early childhood education
• Experience with restorative justice, culturally responsive practice, trauma-informed care.
• Familiarity with using performance-based assessment and equitable grading practices.
• Knowledge of sustainable agriculture, equitable food systems, natural sciences.

Compensation:

• $4,000/month

• Starting salary of $40,000
• $400 a month paid toward health insurance
